NCAA Basketball : Spring Fever

NCAA Basketball : Spring Fever

This post was written by Dana Bloomfield

Flowers are in bloom, wildlife is beginning to flourish, and that sweet smell is in the air. Springtime is here, and with it comes one of the greatest blessings anyone can offer. Every year I look forward to spring for one reason and that is College Basketball season. There is no better thrill than sitting on the couch, turning on the satellite television, and being on the edge of your seat, screaming at the television for a gut wrenching 40 minutes.

Since I was younger, I have loved almost every sport. I started watching college basketball in the Jordan days and have been fascinated with it ever since. My favorite team when I was younger was Ohio State because my brother liked them. The way the college kids scrap and hustle on every play, just to hope to be noticed makes the games so competitive and exciting. The way the underdog has more of a chance than in any other sport when it comes down to the wire. The way all of America felt, holding their breath while Christian Laettner buried the game winning shot against Kentucky in 1992 is what College Basketball is all about.

So when spring rolls around and College Basketball is in full swing, I will be right there with the rest of America, cheering for the Duke Blue Devils, or the Kentucky Wildcats.
